Jibbs

00:00:47.979 - 00:00:53.580

All right, everybody, welcome back. This is Azeroth morning Radio.

Goblins

00:00:54.300 - 00:00:56.140

Death greets you, young one.

Jibbs

00:00:56.380 - 00:01:29.520

It's spoopy time here on the show this week. Good old. I don't even know how to say his name. I'm gonna butcher it. I'm not even gonna attempt to say it. But anyway, folks, welcome.

This is Warcraft for the rest of us, the nine to fivers, the casuals, the parents, those of us, all of us here, including both of us that only have 30 minutes to play. But you've got. You still love love Azeroth. Folks, we are your host. My name's Jibs, and I'm joined by 2015's voted best hoof shiner of the Draenei.

His name is Cash.

Kash

00:01:29.600 - 00:01:33.040

Well, you always have to build community relations, right? So.

Goblins

00:01:33.280 - 00:01:34.560

Nice costume. Didn't know last minute bald was a theme. Hey, yeah. Careful, shifty. The reflection's the only thing scarier than the holiday.

Kash

00:01:43.200 - 00:01:46.080

You know, the hardest. Here's one of the hardest parts about the show.

Jibbs

00:01:46.160 - 00:01:47.120

Yeah, okay.

Kash

00:01:47.200 - 00:02:04.320

About the beginning of the show, okay.

You go through so much stuff, and I literally, you know, the way that we record, like, I'm staring at your face and seeing all the things that are going on for about two minutes before the show starts. So by the time I get to talk, I have like 10 things that I want to tell you.

Jibbs

00:02:05.760 - 00:02:11.000

So you're like that child that wants to tell their dad something and they've waited all day to do it.

Kash

00:02:11.000 - 00:02:32.370

I feel like a redheaded stepchild that got beat for two minutes straight and then they're looking at you just going, what do you have to say? So, man, so. So here's all the things, right, that were going through my head. The first one is, yeah, Building community relations. I have no problem.

Shining draenei feet.

Jibbs

00:02:32.370 - 00:02:35.210

Well, you know, for a price. When in Rome.

Kash

00:02:35.370 - 00:02:58.030

When in Rome. The second thing is, is that as the. You guys will never hear this part because it will, you know, it'll all get edited in post.

But when the introduction of our show was going, you know, with the jazzy music and the Warcraft, and we screwed it up and the goblins suck and all that stuff, Somebody delivered you a spoopy drink.

Jibbs

00:02:58.110 - 00:03:00.990

Oh, buddy, it's daddy's favorite.

Kash

00:03:01.710 - 00:03:04.110

Well, let's See, it is. What is it?

Jibbs

00:03:04.110 - 00:03:14.830

I'm a simple man, okay? I'm a simple man, and I'm an old soul at heart. Remember that. It is a chocolate chip milkshake. A little, tiny little fellow from Baskin Robbins.

That's my favorite.

Kash

00:03:15.130 - 00:03:25.330

Okay? So it's perfect because it's spoopy season, when spoopy season also brings forth the candy buckets or candy in a cup in the frozen form.

Jibbs

00:03:25.330 - 00:03:25.850

That's right.

Kash

00:03:25.850 - 00:03:44.940

But the best part of that entire thing was I saw you just pop the straw on that thing and you weren't even looking at me. You just went, this isn't on the diet. Oh, buddy, that is. That's comedic gold. At least between friends.

Jibbs

00:03:45.260 - 00:03:45.980

That's right.

Kash

00:03:46.380 - 00:03:47.460

Oh, that's right. Yeah.

Jibbs

00:03:47.460 - 00:04:02.700

This is my favorite. My kiddo brought it mid intro. You know, everything's planned and we're getting ready to go right at. My kiddo walks in with this thing and.

And I'm never going to turn that down. I don't care. When my kid gives me something, I'm drinking it, eating it, whatever it is. That's awesome.

Kash

00:04:02.700 - 00:04:04.460

Well, it does look good, I'll give you that.

Jibbs

00:04:04.460 - 00:04:08.220

Well, thank you. I will think of you while I gain weight drinking it.

Kash

00:04:08.420 - 00:04:12.500

So anyway, I can literally hear you getting fatter right now.

Edna

00:04:14.340 - 00:04:15.940

My God, you've gotten fat.

Kash

00:04:16.900 - 00:04:18.420

God, you've got the fat.

Jibbs

00:04:19.300 - 00:04:27.860

Oh, name that movie, folks, if you have kids. You were probably. Actually, I think I was early 20s when that came out. But anyway, what'd you do in Warcraft this week?

Kash

00:04:27.860 - 00:04:30.340

Did you just say that with a Brooklyn accent?

Jibbs

00:04:30.580 - 00:04:36.170

I may have been. I may have been transforming back from a goblin.

Kash

00:04:36.810 - 00:04:47.370

Yay. Just wondering what you did in Warcraft this week. Okay, I guess I'm doing this podcast with a member of the mafia.

Jibbs

00:04:48.010 - 00:04:50.890

Hey, yeah, I'm gonna walk you into a room. There'll be no one in it.

Kash

00:04:51.530 - 00:05:04.750

You're gonna come out with no kneecaps. Warcraft this week. Oh, buddy. Well, I will first say this. It has been a week of adulting.

Jibbs

00:05:05.870 - 00:05:06.670

You're not kidding.

Kash

00:05:06.670 - 00:05:44.700

Hardcore adulting. Work, family stuff. Some good, some bad. Life changing things. Which are. Which are good, I think.

I think over time, like, we're going to, you know, dive more into who we are as people and, you know, what's going on in our lives and stuff. But, man, I was not expecting the week that I had. But, oh, here's the other thing that I wanted to talk about too. You always say that.

I always feel bad when you say that. We have, you know, 30 minutes to play Warcraft during the day.

Jibbs

00:05:44.700 - 00:05:46.140

Yeah, you should be. You know why?

Kash

00:05:47.500 - 00:05:54.620

Because I think I break that rule on the daily. I put a lot of damn time into asrock this week, dude.

Jibbs

00:05:54.620 - 00:05:55.420

Good for you.

Kash

00:05:56.260 - 00:06:14.180

So a lot of Legion remix. I finished off the main four zones and dove into Suramar. We started running higher keys. You and I both got our. Our second transmog set for.

For hitting our 30 key, which was pretty cool.

Jibbs

00:06:14.260 - 00:06:14.820

Yeah.

Kash

00:06:14.980 - 00:06:18.180

And was also kind of a joke also.

Jibbs

00:06:18.180 - 00:06:21.940

Yeah. Yeah. Do we want to talk about that?

Kash

00:06:22.710 - 00:06:50.240

I think we should maybe just talk a little bit about that, and then we'll talk about what you did in Warcraft this week. Besides that. Anyway, the last thing I did was hollows and stuff. Turns out when I looked at my completionism, I was pretty much done. Except.

Except doing the things for War within, getting the candy buckets for war Within. I freaking got everything done. So 100% of that, which was great. But let's cycle back to the 30 key, right?

Jibbs

00:06:50.240 - 00:06:50.720

Yeah.

Kash

00:06:51.680 - 00:07:31.270

Now, granite, we have a good buddy. We've talked about him before.

His name's Stark, and he is a master at picking groups and putting mythics together that are gonna work like, just has a very, very good innate knowledge of what to pick, what not to pick, what group comps to put in there for certain dungeons and stuff.

So anyway, we're running an arcway, so if you haven't figured this one out yet, if you list an arc way with any semblance of a decent key, you're gonna fill that thing in about four seconds flat. Yeah. Because everybody wants to run arc way because it's super easy.

Jibbs

00:07:31.270 - 00:07:31.750

Mm.

Kash

00:07:32.070 - 00:08:14.230

And if you.

If you do that dungeon, especially in the hierarchies, if you got folks who've hit 740 or already, which maybe some of you have, maybe a lot of you haven't. I certainly haven't yet. They will just take off. Like, the countdown for the mythic goes, you know, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, all the way down.

And as soon as that wall drops, they're gone. And they're splitting directions, going to kill the bosses. And you just got to pick a direction and go, like, who am I going to follow?

So we kind of just try and stay together, and they are absolutely gone. And that I think. What did we get, 3 minutes and 30 seconds or something? We finished arccway.

Jibbs

00:08:14.230 - 00:08:22.310

No, it was sooner than that. But because we didn't have enough percentage, it took longer. They were done with all the bosses in two minutes in, like 38 seconds.

Kash

00:08:22.390 - 00:09:06.830

Yeah, it's you want to feel useless in a 30 key right now. Be a healer. I'm just healing myself, trying to keep myself and Jibs alive as we're trying to trail behind the one person we could find to follow.

But it was kind of a joke. So anyway, we got the achievement, which is fantastic. But man, it was. It's a little different in remix for sure.

Like, people are, they are so powerful that Blizzard's actually coming and like back capping stuff now going, oh yeah, that's not how we intended it. We kind of intended you to break it, but now you guys are getting way too powerful. So they're actually putting caps on some stuff now.

Jibbs

00:09:06.830 - 00:09:40.300

I've been playing at a very comfortable level in remix, you know, just enjoying my time in there and doing other things as well, which I'll talk about a minute. But, you know, and as you, you know, progress and remix, you get a little more versatility every time, right?

Well, I'm at 14% and I'm feeling like, hey, I'm. I feel like I'm doing pretty well. You know, these people have 551 versatility percent percentage. I don't understand how, number one, that's possible.

Number two, how you can walk around with a neck beard that long.

Kash

00:09:41.340 - 00:09:47.980

They're slant. They are slamming mythics. They're doing mythic, heroic and normal raids every day.

Jibbs

00:09:48.300 - 00:09:49.260

It's incredible.

Kash

00:09:49.420 - 00:10:30.920

That's. That's how that's happening.

Because the one thing that I do find is that when I run the raids, you know, at every level, I have so many points to put into, into my weapon that all that stuff just exponentially goes up.

And I think it increases your, what is it, your mastery and your intelligence or something like that, when you put points into, into that final skill on your weapon tree and it's just, it's nuts. And it goes very, very quickly when you do all the higher level stuff, especially the daily stuff.

So if they're doing that stuff daily and then they're going through and they're doing high level keys, it's just stacking and stacking and stacking and stacking.

Jibbs

00:10:30.920 - 00:10:39.080

That makes more sense. Okay. And by the way, I'm jealous of the neckbeard. All right. I'm not knocking. If you got one, that's fine.

Braid it, look pretty, make it like a Viking. I support.

Kash

00:10:39.080 - 00:10:41.240

Use a loyal on it. Oh yeah, playing.

Jibbs

00:10:41.240 - 00:10:47.360

You know, I used to have a beard company back in the day. I would have sold you beard oil mustache. I thought about you the other day.

Kash

00:10:47.520 - 00:10:48.080

I do.

Jibbs

00:10:48.160 - 00:10:49.320

Yep. That was A good time.

Kash

00:10:49.320 - 00:10:50.160

Who's your daddy? Right?

Jibbs

00:10:50.160 - 00:10:52.290

Who's your daddy? That's right. Yep.

Kash

00:10:52.290 - 00:10:52.890

There you go.

Jibbs

00:10:52.890 - 00:13:11.430

And I love that stuff. There's my shameless plug for my company no longer exists. So this past week for myself in Warcraft, it's been a unique time.

Ever since the very first patch notes came out for the Alpha of Midnight. There was one class that turned my head and it hasn't turned my head in over probably 10 years. Really turned my head. And it was.

Made me question it, like, wait a minute, what are they doing with this class? And that is the Priest, particularly the Shadow Priest. So way back when I couldn't, I couldn't. This is.

I don't even really want to say this on the air, but I'm already in it. I couldn't afford a. Wow. A Warcraft expansion or a subscription earlier on, early, early on, over a decade ago.

And so one of my main introductions to Warcraft was a private server. I don't even know the name of it. It's long gone, but it was a. It was a Wrath of the Lich King patch.

But I mained a Shadow Priest and I fell in love with that class in the way that it felt. I loved the. When you had high haste, you'd watch those dots just tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. It had all kinds of utility.

I was in love, you know, fast forward I. And then I've had my first real legitimate Warcraft experience.

I was so excited because I had met Cash and the huge community and we were diving into Warlords of Draenor. Loved it. I had a good time, you know, and to this day continued in retail and. But anyway, so these patch notes are.

Have been updated and they're making some tweaks and some people are making some comments like, oh, this feels. This feels reminiscent of XYZ kind of priests. I'm like, I'm sorry, what? So I started looking more into it, looking more into it.

And long story short, I started playing around with the Shadow Priest and I kid you not, it felt like a blast from the past because I haven't touched this class in like, and I say class, but really this spec in 10 years really touched it. And I'm like finding all. And I'm reading so much. I'm. I've honestly spent more time watching video and reading than I have actually playing the class.

And he's 31.

And so like I found like this underground Shadow Priest group that's like breaking down the blog posts and they're just like solely Dedicated to Shadow Priest. And I'm just learning all these things and I'm trying to figure this out.

Kash

00:13:11.430 - 00:13:16.590

And I'm just like, wow, that sounds a little like a cult. I believe you might have joined a cult.

Jibbs

00:13:17.550 - 00:13:21.790

Is that why I'm getting all these random, like, engravings on my skin now?

Kash

00:13:22.990 - 00:13:26.190

Yeah, because they're drugging you and tattooing you?

Goblins

00:13:27.070 - 00:13:30.670

Yeah, it was actually me. I put a nyquil in your coffee.

Jibbs

00:13:31.340 - 00:14:07.840

Okay, well, that makes sense. That tracks.

But anyway, so I've been diving into Shadow Priest and figuring out that's gonna be my alt or my new main. But I've been having a really, really good time and that in Legion and running.

Yeah, running those keys with you guys truthfully has been a riot because it's like. It's so weird, man. Like, you're just flying through these Dungeons.

It says plus 30 mythic, but put an asterisk next to that because more than likely it's, if you've acquired the correct people, they're going to finish the dungeon for you. And like Cass said, you just try not to take a giant dirt nap for the entirety of the dungeon because you're literally fighting to survive.

Kash

00:14:07.840 - 00:14:26.200

Yeah. Mythic's Smithic. Okay, we are not going to let you overshadow the fact of something that just happened.

And many of the people might not understand, but I'm going to bring some solid, clear understanding to all of our friends out there that are listening to us at Radio Lake.

Jibbs

00:14:26.200 - 00:14:27.360

Oh, I'm excited. I don't know where you're going.

Kash

00:14:27.880 - 00:14:34.000

Oh, you're about to find out, homie. Okay, there's a little thing about jibs, and every once in a while, I'm gonna give you.

Jibbs

00:14:34.000 - 00:14:35.560

Oh, don't do it. I know what you're doing.

Kash

00:14:35.560 - 00:14:38.160

Little tidbits about my buddy here.

Jibbs

00:14:38.160 - 00:14:38.800

Oh, my God.

Kash

00:14:38.800 - 00:14:42.600

Okay. Just. Just little tidbits about the way he does business.

Jibbs

00:14:42.840 - 00:14:43.320

Oh.

Kash

00:14:45.640 - 00:14:54.040

He likes to switch mains quite frequently. Why is it have to say I have to give. Just shut your mouth.

Jibbs

00:14:54.040 - 00:14:54.840

All right, fine.

Kash

00:14:55.420 - 00:17:12.230

I have to give him some credit because he is stuck with his pally for quite some time now. It's actually. It's been pretty good, right? And I used to give him the hardest time about this. Just like. Okay, let's. Let's dial this in.

Let's figure out what are all the things you like. Dude, we've had spreadsheets. Oh, he's literally been depressed, visibly depressed when he can't figure out what he wants to play.

What are you doing this because he likes the convenience and the safety of range. But at the same time he looks to be right up in your face and just give you a real piece of it.

And he likes to have a little bit of healing, he likes to have some nature motif. But he loves the lights, these things, and they just don't equal out to each separate class.

So I give him a hard time all the time because he will get his fill of one and then move on to another thing. Now I don't think that this is a bad thing. I make a joke out of it just because it freaking makes me laugh every time.

But when you play the game that way and you're comfortable with the ebb and flow of moving to what you're feeling, it makes you that much better in understanding other classes when you're at that top level content, Whether that top level content happens to be a heroic dungeon. If that could be top level content for you, okay.

Or PvP, you know, if you're trying to push high keys, you have such a better understanding of other classes and what they're capable of and what they can do. And then you turn into the guy that's like, why did you, why did you do this? Why did you do that? And you're like yelling at jibs. Doesn't do that.

But I've definitely had it done to me before. It was like, oh, crap. Well, I'm kind of new to this class. Have that on my bar. What? That's not on your bar. You know what I mean?

So you get this global understanding of other classes. So I think it's a very good thing. I personally, I don't do that as much. I can't.

I like, especially now because I really do love my class now and I'm, I'm just, I'm invested. Do you not invested?

Jibbs

00:17:12.230 - 00:17:17.309

Do you not see the trend with me though, with Paladin and going to a priest? Do you not see?

Kash

00:17:17.309 - 00:17:18.149

Oh, I see the trend.

Jibbs

00:17:18.149 - 00:17:19.269

You see the trend, right?

Kash

00:17:19.749 - 00:17:41.389

It's typically the light with you, but you like the. Because you're okay. And here's another thing about my friend. He is one of the most kind hearted people I've ever met in my life.

Just humanly, spiritually, morally, he's a really good person. So in games a lot of times he likes to play the 100% opposite.

Jibbs

00:17:41.389 - 00:17:42.709

Of that and just murder.

Kash

00:17:44.510 - 00:17:53.790

Everything. You get a dot, you get a dot, you. Oh, they're all dropping.

So I can totally, I can see this like you're playing your alter ego when you're playing Shadow Princess.

Jibbs

00:17:53.870 - 00:17:59.350

Yeah, yeah. Sith Juggernaut was my favorite in swtor. That was, you know, Vader.

Kash

00:17:59.350 - 00:18:09.110

Yeah. And. And transversely I could not play anything but a. But a hard light sided Jedi. And that's just the way. It's the way I play games. Yeah.

Jibbs

00:18:09.110 - 00:18:32.010

Isn't that crazy though?

Like how your personality will come in and this is to any listeners listening how like you know your class that you may pick if you really sit there and think about it and analyze. There's a lot of things that you probably personally relate to about that class where it's like for you. Nature. I know you love to be in nature.

Be out in the woods doing your thing. Right. You're a druid. Nature.

Kash

00:18:32.330 - 00:18:37.050

Yeah. But at the same time I'll. I'll pick a quest where I have to kill kittens or something like.

Jibbs

00:18:37.050 - 00:18:37.450

Nope.

Kash

00:18:37.450 - 00:18:41.290

That quest is going to stay there forever. Not touching it. Not killing kittens.

Jibbs

00:18:41.870 - 00:19:13.400

Yep. Yep. Oh man. Yeah. It's funny how you relate to stuff. That's. That's for sure. But anyway, that's not why you came.

This week on the show we got phase two of Legion Remix is live. Rise of the Nightfallen Turtle Wow is out and about making quite the their media rounds. That's for sure. It's hitting all the major websites.

We'll talk about that in a little bit. Turtle wow versus Blizzard. It's essentially what we're looking at. And. But we got Snark returns as well.

But all that right after this commercial break. We'll be right back.

Commercial

00:19:18.760 - 00:19:34.130

This Hollow's End.

Jibbs

00:21:20.570 - 00:21:23.370

All right, folks, well, let's get this started with the hero's call.

Kash

00:21:25.450 - 00:21:26.490

Heroes call.

Jibbs

00:21:26.970 - 00:21:30.570

Smack soldier. Missed opportunity.

Kash

00:21:30.570 - 00:21:35.050

What's your name, scumbag? That's what I think of every time I hear that.

Jibbs

00:21:35.370 - 00:21:40.650

Just keep hearing your voice in the. Was it episode three? Sergeant Pepper. Sergeant Pepper.

Kash

00:21:41.700 - 00:22:11.180

All right, my friends, as you know, with the heroes call board, we like to scour the interwebs for super cool things that the community is doing out there and bring it to your attention. So this week, because it's such a spoopy week, Hollow's end going on, there's. There's pumpkins and jack o lanterns and all sorts of things going on.

And the Headless Horseman's running around yelling, screaming at everybody, lighting everybody's house on fire. He's a freaking arsonist, that guy.

Jibbs

00:22:11.180 - 00:22:19.120

Yeah, he is, man. He does not mess around. And when he's not messing around, his shades aren't messing around.

You see what they did to Dunborough, man, they lit that place up.

Kash

00:22:19.120 - 00:22:37.520

Yep. Yeah, same thing with Goldshire. Not that I hang out in Goldshire. I'm just saying. Showed up and tried to light things on fire.

But it's nice because after he lights everything on fire and you get to run around putting it all out for. For, you know, candy, candy buckets and tokens, you get to do a little thing to the Headless Horseman called murder.

Jibbs

00:22:38.240 - 00:22:38.880

Murder.

Kash

00:22:39.520 - 00:22:49.280

And then you can murder him once again for the shot at the man mount, which is kind of cool. Still haven't gotten it yet. It's been several days. Jib's got it on his first try.

Jibbs

00:22:49.280 - 00:22:51.160

I got second day. I got the old one on second.

Kash

00:22:51.160 - 00:22:53.960

Day more than I got. Which is still pretty cool.

Jibbs

00:22:53.960 - 00:22:54.520

Thank you.

Kash

00:22:54.520 - 00:23:37.040

But, oh, quick side note, before we get to Hero's cboard, quick side note on that.

If you do it on your charact, your main character, and on your alts, if you do the dungeon each day, which takes two or three minutes, you are guaranteed a drop of the gear, the transmog. So just I want to throw that out there to everybody. That is confirmed. You are guaranteed to get A drop every single time. And I've been.

You can go into the dungeon. And if, as you go into the dungeon, you'll see some wicker men, like to the left, talk to the biggest one and put it on the hardest difficulty.

Just say, give me all the things. And all they do is they do affixes. And the affixes are not difficult to get through and you get a better chance.

Jibbs

00:23:37.360 - 00:24:01.870

So I didn't know that last part. Yeah, that's why. Okay, so.

All right, that, that makes sense because anytime I'd be getting into, you know, that mini dungeon, that one boss dungeon with him, you know, they. Someone would stop, turn the left and do something, you know, start talking, whatever. And I never thought anything of it.

I was just, you know, at the time I was playing Palace, I was just running forward like get my shield out, ready to rock and roll and all right.

Kash

00:24:01.870 - 00:25:20.480

Screaming for the light. For the light. No, that is. It sets a personal affix to your character.

And if you make it through, from what I understand, what I've gathered, you get a better chance at the loot. Okay, cycling back to the heroes call board. Really, really cool thing that we saw going on coming up actually here pretty quick.

The Nightblade Masquerade. And this is a Hollow's End event that is gonna be on two different servers. One is Moon Card. Of course this isn't. This is a roleplay event.

But still gonna be really cool. Okay. Even if you're not, if you don't like roleplay, it's okay. It's still a really cool thing to go to. And on Worm Rest Accord. So both on those two.

And it's. It's hosted by the same folks, it's hosted by the Nightblade Consortium.

And this is taking place on Friday, October 24th at 8pm Server time to 11pm Server time. And there's. There's like a little figure theme going. So you get a little transmog.

It's semi formal or formal masks are recommended in tune with the Hollow's End event. And the location is going to be the Lunastre estate in Suramar.

Jibbs

00:25:20.560 - 00:25:26.290

So by the time this episode comes out, this will already have happened. So I want to ask you, are you planning on going?

Kash

00:25:26.610 - 00:25:29.730

I am planning on going. Damn. How did I do that?

Goblins

00:25:30.370 - 00:25:31.570

What a loser.

Kash

00:25:31.970 - 00:25:58.880

Okay, well, if you're listening to this episode, I hope you went to this. As I'm looking down in the corner of my computer screen, seeing it's Today is the 22nd. Like, what an idiot.

So anyway, I'm sure there's gonna be some cool YouTube videos on what actually happened at this event, but it's still it. This is definitely Heroes call board worthy because.

Jibbs

00:25:58.960 - 00:25:59.640

Absolutely.

Kash

00:25:59.640 - 00:26:00.560

It's super cool.

Jibbs

00:26:00.640 - 00:26:01.440

Absolutely.

Kash

00:26:01.520 - 00:26:24.470

There is. There's a post, and I'm sure they're gonna do it again this year. I think this is their second or third year that they're doing it. They'll.

They'll put a post up for. For next year's as well, and there's a discord and stuff like that. But anyway, it's.

It's little things like this that make World of Warcraft come to life, and that's why I'm putting it on there, despite my massive fail at the date. But that's okay. My name's Anakin, and I'm a person.

Jibbs

00:26:26.150 - 00:26:27.670

Insane gets everywhere.

Kash

00:26:27.910 - 00:26:38.950

Yeah. Move on to the news. I'm embarrassed. Breaking news. Lots of Holly used by the Goblin News Network.

Jibbs

00:26:41.270 - 00:27:13.660

All right, well, we've talked about a little bit, but phase two of Legion remix Rise of the Nightfallen is now available. It is out. People are in it. We are in it. We did. Oh, by the way, and this carries the story on from Legion Remit or Legion back in the day.

So relive Suramar's campaign, return to Karazhan, and defeat Gul'dan at Nighthold. Now, we've already done one of these. We did. At least together. I'm sure you've done more than I have since then, but we did the. The Caravan Dungeon.

Kash

00:27:13.740 - 00:27:22.220

We did Karazhan last night, and today I went and did all the other ones on different difficulty level.

Jibbs

00:27:24.140 - 00:27:59.910

Oh, it's such a. It's such a weird thing.

So, like, we are, as we record these episodes, we are legitimately experiencing all these firsts in a remix because we've never done it before. But, like, it. It just is like a crazy, crazy, unique experience, you know, it's nothing like retail. It's nothing like classic. I love classic.

It's just. Man, it's like they just. They just.

Like, if you were at a soundboard, they just turn all the dials up and just push the green button and let them go, man.

Kash

00:27:59.990 - 00:29:10.960

It is legitimately drinking from a fire hose. Legitimately. Like taking a mouthful of a fire hose is exactly how Legion remakes feels. Now, I have done some of the stuff, but.

But, you know, admittedly, I think I admitted in another show, like, I've. I've never done a mythic raid in retail, and now I'm getting to experience all these mythic Raids.

And I'm going to be coming out, you know, coming out of this remix thing and just, I'll probably go into a mythic raid at some point. Just be like, that's not how it was remixed. It was different. I was so much more powerful.

I mean, you seriously, in, in a mythic, normally, like, if you're, if you are not prepared, if you are not prepared, they are gonna fart sideways and you're dead. Which is, is awesome, right? Because you know, that's the upper echelon and, and how, how difficult the game can scale, which is really cool.

But just know that if you're, if you're smashing Mythics right now in remix, it's much different. Going to be much different for you in retail. But it has been fun. The one thing, here's one thing that I didn't remember.

I did not remember how long the Nighthold raid is.

Jibbs

00:29:11.200 - 00:29:13.760

Oh, yeah. Oh, man. Long.

Kash

00:29:14.480 - 00:29:18.400

I was like, oh my God, when are we gonna be done with this?

Jibbs

00:29:20.240 - 00:29:59.460

Write a chapter of a book. Yeah, that even when I'm. When I was doing transmog Runs for a Night hold, it is a. You do a lot of running. A lot of running, right? I mean, it's, it.

You got your money's worth with that raid and that may be part of the reason why. See, I look back at Legion now and it's. It's such a well regarded expansion that at the time when I was playing it, I really felt like I was.

Well, that had really been my second expansion really in Warcraft post Warlords. And so like, I think Warlords came out before that, right? Wasn't it Warlords in Legion?

Kash

00:29:59.460 - 00:30:01.940

I believe so. Damn it. I think so. Now I'm going.

Jibbs

00:30:01.940 - 00:30:08.580

I think it was. I just want to make sure I don't sound like an idiot.

I don't want to like, put something in the show that will already have happened by the time the show releases.

Kash

00:30:08.580 - 00:30:10.820

You just keep burying yourself and I'll look it up.

Jibbs

00:30:11.620 - 00:30:43.680

Okay. And so like, for me, you know, going. Thinking back and whenever people say, like, it was a really well regarded expansion, I enjoyed it then.

But I'll be honest, aside from Questing in Highmountain, I don't remember too, too much about it. I. In fact, I remember more about playing Warlords than I do Legion.

And so when we're going back and we're doing remix, it's like, you know, reliving a lot of these things. It's neat to relive them, you know, but like, there is definitely that asterisk there. Was it beforehand.

Kash

00:30:43.680 - 00:31:04.760

We'll let you live. Yeah. All right, so it's. It's vanilla. The Burning Crusade, Wrath, Cata Mists, Warlords of Draenor, Fake housing, Fake news, Fake housing. Legion.

I loved my Garrison, Battle for Azeroth, Shadowlands, Dragonflight, and the Wall we're heading.

Jibbs

00:31:04.920 - 00:31:34.770

Interesting. Yeah, you know, it was after. It's interesting, we kind of, like, dipped out for bfa, but we came back heavy after that.

That's when we really, really dove into Warcraft. But, yeah, so it's been a lot of fun. Let me ask you this, and I'd be interested to hear what our listeners have to say as well.

You know, you can comment on Spotify, on YouTube, whatever, Facebook, whatever fits your fancy. What other remixes would you like to see and how often?

Kash

00:31:35.490 - 00:31:46.770

Ooh, that is an excellent question. How often? I would really, really like to see a Lich King.

Jibbs

00:31:48.690 - 00:31:49.250

Remix.

Kash

00:31:50.370 - 00:33:37.650

I would.

Because even though I was playing Warcraft at the time, everybody gushes about Wrath of the Lich King, and I don't feel like I followed the story as well as I probably should have.

I kind of blasted through a lot of that one and, you know, shame on me for doing it, but I think at the time, I wasn't as invested in the lore of the world as I am now, you know, and like, even. Even the Burning Crusade. But the Burning Crusade, I will say this.

I played the Burning Crusade with friends in a room a majority of the time, at least for, like, the beginning levels.

We would get together and, like, we would take time off at work and we would all be in the same place with laptops and we'd order lunch and just be hanging out. We'd be doing all the quest content together. So I know a lot more about the Burning Crusade story than I did Wrath of the Lich King.

Wrath of the Lich King was. Was a bit different for me. I kind of blasted through a lot of that stuff, but I really think I fell in love with the story probably around Mists.

Oh, I just. I rolled a monk and I did all the things on a monk, and I.

That is truly when I fell in love with the story of the vastness of how big Azeroth actually is and all the things that are yet undiscovered for us to play and that. I really think that's when I fell in love with lore. So I blasted through Wrath of the Lich King. If.

If there is ever going to be, like, another remix, which I really hope there is, because this one is a Lot of damn fun. I'd really like to see it go back to Lich King.

Jibbs

00:33:37.650 - 00:33:48.210

Okay. Yeah, That's a good one. That's a really good one. I. There's one I could say, but I don't want to go there, and I want to go here.

Kash

00:33:48.370 - 00:33:49.130

I know where you.

Jibbs

00:33:49.130 - 00:33:51.010

Because you know where I'm going.

Kash

00:33:51.810 - 00:33:52.390

Hate mail.

Jibbs

00:33:52.780 - 00:33:54.420

So bold strategy, Cotton.

Kash

00:33:54.420 - 00:33:55.900

Let's see if it pays off for him.

Jibbs

00:33:55.900 - 00:34:33.868

So here's the thing. I'm gonna say this, but I gotta preface it, all right?

Volume four of the Lore books have just come out, and within those books, it kind of sets a lot of Shadowland straight from a Lore standpoint. Right.

However, with Remix, one thing I've discovered, particularly with the Dragonflight, is that, you know, from a Lore standpoint, they are, like, testing out this timeline and kind of playing with a little bit. Some things are happening that didn't happen when we were there originally. Right. I would like to see a Shadowlands remix with. Hang on. Hey, hang on.

Don't. Don't start typing. You're angry. You're starting breathing heavy.

Kash

00:34:33.868 - 00:34:36.469

With Bronn as a companion as you go through Will.

Jibbs

00:34:36.469 - 00:35:36.070

Oh, I'm. Have a great week, everybody. Don't stand there. Don't stand there.

No, I would love to see Shadowlands done in a remix with corrected lore, with better Lore outcomes, because this is technically a timeline variant in a way. Like, they could do it like that. And I would love to see. I would love to see. I would love to see the Lich King story finish.

Arthas's story finished out a little bit better than what it was. And a couple other things as well. I would love to see, like, in this timeline, this variant of this timeline, how did it play out?

You know, was there something else? You know, you could kind of play on it a little bit? And honestly, I would love to see a different.

A different style of tour gas that is done in a way that everyone enjoys. Don't give me hate mail. I'm just saying, like, I think that'd be a cool thing to see.

Kash

00:35:36.310 - 00:35:38.430

I would do it all again just to save Jayna.

Jibbs

00:35:38.430 - 00:35:47.430

Oh, look. My wife asked me the other day. She goes, who's the two women you cheat on me with? And I'm like, hold on. That's not setting you up for failure.

Kash

00:35:47.430 - 00:35:55.750

Right out the gate. I am appalled. Honey. I would never. I would never, never have a first and second choice.

Jibbs

00:35:56.710 - 00:36:07.250

Never. I would never choose Jaina Proudmoore as my first, and I would never, ever, ever, ever choose Missy Elliot as my second okay. That's all I'm saying.

All right.

Kash

00:36:07.250 - 00:36:28.930

If I ever.

If I was ever carrying a hand grenade through the kitchen and you happen to flip out of my hand and under your chair, if I just happen to have golf shoes on and run up and down all over top of you. I tripped. I'm just kidding. I have a very good relationship with my wife. And. And I love her to death.

Jibbs

00:36:29.010 - 00:36:45.090

Oh. Yes. We're both very happily married and they know it. They put up with our crap. Anyway. Oh.

So for me, I think it'd be Shadowlands remix with an asterisk if there. If the stories were kind of, you know, the endings were a little. Just giving a little love.

Kash

00:36:45.090 - 00:37:05.930

I'll give you that. I will 100% give you that. Because that was a big point of contention for a lot of people. It was in back in the Shadowlands days.

Now, the one thing I will say, and this. This hearkens me back to our. To our buddy Stark. He had a very good point that we were talking about the other day, that if.

The one thing that he could say for Shadowlands is that the Shadowlands dungeons were epic.

Jibbs

00:37:06.490 - 00:37:07.530

Oh, I loved them.

Kash

00:37:07.610 - 00:37:10.970

Excellent dungeon design in that one.

Jibbs

00:37:11.610 - 00:37:27.810

I loved the. I loved Bastion. I loved a lot of these zones, Revendra. I love all the zones minus the Night Fae. Like, I just. It's just not me.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's beautiful. It's just. It's not me. I. I know that's your thing.

Kash

00:37:28.130 - 00:37:28.530

Yeah.

Jibbs

00:37:28.530 - 00:37:32.050

You know, you got. You got a little tattoo of the. The Night Fae on your.

Kash

00:37:32.290 - 00:37:33.330

On my derriere.

Jibbs

00:37:35.570 - 00:37:36.970

You lost that bet that one time.

Kash

00:37:36.970 - 00:37:52.000

Am I for. No, I don't have a tattoo of the Night Fae. The next thing you know, people are like, dude, you can you send a picture? No, can't, bro.

Jibbs

00:37:53.920 - 00:38:32.170

But anyway, I love the zones and I loved the dungeons. I really did.

And again, you know, if you listen anytime earlier than episodes, I would talk about how I relate experience, like my personal experience to an expansion, like, or my love or lack thereof of it. And I really did have a good time. Minus. Minus Torgast in the mall. Like, that was a little. But I mean, that. That. That goes without saying, I think.

But, you know, like, it was a good time. Yeah, those dungeons were awesome. They really were. I thought they were beautiful, to be honest. And they were unique.

I still love the Bastion arena as my favorite arena of all the PvP arenas is the Bastion Arena.

Kash

00:38:32.170 - 00:39:22.830

But yeah, I think the. I think the takeaway from this, at least for us, Is that the remixes 100% fly, like, especially.

And again, I didn't play Mr. Pandaria remix, but from what I understand, Legion Remix has done really well at improving upon the things that the players wanted to see.

And I think that's a really important point to cover because when Blizzard's listening and they're making changes based off of player feedback, like imagine, you know, in two more remixes, or by the time we get to a War within Remix, how streamlined and amazing it's going to be, because, again, I am having an absolute blast in Legion Remix.

Jibbs

00:39:22.830 - 00:40:04.990

Yeah. So Mists of Pandaria's remix launched on May 16, 2024. We just saw the launch of Legion Remix, what, two weeks ago. So that would have been.

Yeah, so early October. So a little over, what, like a year and four months is. I don't know. I'm not doing the math.

Do you want to see that again at that cadence going forward? Because I imagine, look, this was a. This was a home run. It's already proven to be a home run for them. They.

They upgraded and they fixed things that needed fixed and upgraded based off feedback of Mists of Pandaria's remix. I think they're gonna do this again. How often do you want to see it?

Kash

00:40:05.070 - 00:43:00.500

I would never turn down content. I'll never turn down content. Any content, even if it's bad content, is more content for the World of Warcraft content box. That's right.

I can't say that I wouldn't want to see it again on that same timeline. But the one thing I think it's too long, to be honest with you, I think three months is. Is too long now. The way that they're doing it, it's.

It's gonna be. It is a really good distraction from the continued work that they're putting into what's coming out in the next few months. It's a good distraction.

And I think it was. It was timed well.

It was very smart of them to do and very crafty of them to do it this way because, like, legitimately, people are paying a lot of attention. I just. I was watching a YouTube video. I think it might have been Bellular.

I think it was Bellular, one of his latest videos, where he was talking about the increase of remix videos and the. That are on YouTube, like guides and such, and the amount of views they're getting. And he, he was like, that's a really good sign.

And it truly is a really good sign that there are so many people invested in remix right now.

And there's still people in retail, I will say that because, you know, logging into my retail character to do the Hollow's end event, I have certainly noticed that there's still people there. But it's. The cities are nothing like they are. No, when there's. When there's nothing else like a remix going on to draw people away.

So there's just a lot of World of Warcraft players out there. So.

But there is a noticeable difference that I think a lot of people are, are playing remix and that, you know, the good thing about remix too is that the way that they've designed it, if you're playing it for your main thing that you're doing, if you're putting, if you're putting the same amount of time, whatever time that is, as you would typically put into retail, if you're putting that into remix, you can get a good amount of those rewards. You can kind of bird dog the things you want and you can achieve those things. And I'm even seeing it, I'm seeing it from. Because I'm playing a lot.

I will definitely say that I'm playing a lot. I am seeing that with the amount of bronze that I'm getting, like I will.

I'll let it accumulate to like 5 or 600k and then just go spend a bunch of it and then before I know it, I'm right back up there again, like, holy moly. So I'm able to buy a ton of stuff, even stuff that I don't want. I'm just kind of, you know, just mount collecting at this point.

But if you were to play it a decent amount, and I'm not talking neckbeard amount, I'm talking if you were to play it a decent amount, I would almost guarantee you can get all the rewards.

Jibbs

00:43:00.660 - 00:43:02.750

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Kash

00:43:02.750 - 00:43:05.630

And it's a lot. There are so many rewards.

Jibbs

00:43:05.870 - 00:43:40.680

Yeah, yeah.

And folks don't let you know when we were talking earlier, like those people will just blow through the dungeon, blow through the raids and kill everything quickly. They will.

So don't let something that is normally difficult in our world of retail deter you from trying it in remix because you absolutely will be able to be a part of that.

You'll be able to get your content, take advantage of it, enjoy watching the, the dragsters, AKA Demon hunters fly through the dungeons and clear everything for you. Take advantage of it. And yeah, you're talking. Everything you said is so true.

Kash

00:43:40.760 - 00:44:51.660

It's a good point that you bring up because the mythic system, if you have any aversion to doing mythics at all in remix. It is much, much different in remix. And what I mean is a mythic a plus 5 is much different in retail than it is in remix.

It's a very, it's a very slow progression. Whereas you could have things could, could get a lot harder from you know, say 5 to a 10 in retail.

A 5 to a 10 is a minimal difference in difficulty in Remix. So yeah, please go through those things. Don't be afraid.

Hop into the, hop into the, into the custom group finder and just start signing up for some stuff and get through and get those achievements because it's much more doable. Especially because a lot of people are, they're just running them or they're running the, some of the lower keys.

Even, even with like Top Level gear score, they're 740s running those things and they just blast through stuff. So if you're looking to do those parts of remix just for the achievements and the rewards, then do not hesitate. It's a great point.

Jibbs

00:44:51.980 - 00:47:21.400

Agreed. Agreed. So anyway folks, make sure that you're jumping in.

Check out the Suramar campaign, the Return to Karazhan and of course the Gul'dan night hold rate aka marathon run, because your character is gonna lose about 20 pounds just through cardio alone by the time you're done with that one.

So anyway, next up on the docket, Fan run World of Warcraft Server Network Network Turtle Wow asks Blizzard to embrace its work in response to lawsuit this coming to us from PC games in.com so as Blizzard's lawsuit against the fan run Turtle Wow server moves forward, the team behind it is asking for collaboration instead of conflict, urging Blizzard to, quote, consider establishing a formal ecosystem for licensing fan run community servers and quote quote we're going to talk about that in a second Blizzard suit. Suit filed Aug. 29 accuses Turtle Wow.

Of quote, illegal use of Blizzard's code assets and trademarks, end quote claiming the servers, quote, harm the player experience.

In an open letter, the Turtle Wow team responded with the following and this is the kind of the part that we're going to be, we're going to be talking about here. So I'm going to finish this up here and we'll, we'll jump in.

Quote the response from our community has been nothing short of positive and heartwarming.

Our players have consistently expressed that mysteries of Azeroth AKA that's their Turtle Wow kind of client or expansion right now feels like a home that's always welcome, that always welcomes players back. Unlike Other studios. Blizzard does not yet have a framework that allows projects like ours to operate without risking legal conflict.

We are open any licensing structure that fits Blizzard's risk management and financial guidelines. A license framework to run or. I'm sorry, excuse me, for fan run.

Servers would extend World of Warcraft's active audience by bringing back players who have drifted away from the official game in search of niche experiences. So within the article, guys, everybody, they.

They kind of cite Rockstars 5M, which is their roleplay servers, or maybe EverQuest's Project 1999, and they kind of talk about, like, how these are examples that when there is clear licensing framework, this stuff can work. So they finish on this quote. We look forward to the day when you embrace this opportunity and would welcome the chance to begin a dialogue.

We hope to find a resolution that will be best for the game and its gamers. End quote. So I'm gonna ask you this, and this is kind of a hot one I have to take. Is this letter genuine goodwill or a PR move amid the lawsuit?

Kash

00:47:21.400 - 00:47:23.000

I think it could be a little bit of both.

Jibbs

00:47:23.000 - 00:47:23.480

Yeah.

Kash

00:47:23.560 - 00:47:24.080

Yep.

Jibbs

00:47:24.080 - 00:47:24.790

Tell me about it.

Kash

00:47:25.100 - 00:48:42.700

The lawsuit from Blizzard against Turtle. Wow. Was. It was pretty poignant. It was harsh. And again, to call him out a little bit.

Bellular has a really good video on this, if you want to get into the ins and outs of, of basically what that suit was. But it. It gets a. It gets personal. And I. I don't see this happening. I don't ever see this happening. Now I'm kind of. I have an opinion on this, and.

And maybe I'm. I'm gonna kind of work through it, but I can see both sides of the argument here. But I think at the end of the day, they don't want to be sued.

Nobody wants to be sued. And I think when you're facing a titan like. Like Activision Blizzard, that is a huge issue. A huge issue.

But at the same time, they don't want to lose their project. They want to be able to continue what they're doing because they, you know, they enjoy what they're doing.

There's a lot of players out there that enjoy what they're doing, and I think all that's fine. But let me ask you this, because I don't. I never played Turtle. Wow. I don't know very much about it. Were they making money?

Jibbs

00:48:42.940 - 00:49:11.790

I think they had a donation area, and I think in addition to that, you could. You could buy things. I think they had a shop, from what I hear, from what I understand. I know that they were. Maybe it was either them or Ascension.

Wow. I think it was Ascension that was doing the, the commercials. And I'm watching this stuff happen and I'm thinking, like, what are you doing?

Like, why would you do this? Right.

Kash

00:49:12.190 - 00:51:14.890

So a quick Google search netted me. No. Turtle wow is free to play, but it accepts donations to support the project.

The donation shop is a cosmetic or quality of life based and does not offer a pay to win advantage. It runs on a private server, plays in a legally gray area. Yeah, that's an understatement. And then it goes into how it could possibly be shut down.

So that's definitely getting into copyright territory right there. Trademark and copyright territory you're getting into when you are making money off of somebody else's creation. I mean it's, it's quite simple.

Even though it's, it's donation based. I'm sure they were making money off of it and I know they were creating their own things.

But at the same time, when you have an intellectual property that was created and protected by a company, that's exactly what they're doing. They are finally getting to protect, they're getting around to protecting their ip.

And I don't think that that is a bad thing at all because they, you know, they could be changing lore, changing the way the story is, changing the way the game, the game plays, but it's still based off of World of Warcraft's ip. So I can completely understand that. I don't ever like to see players displaced from something that they love.

So that's the other side of, of my thought on this is that part sucks. But you have to be savvy enough to pay attention to the things they're doing.

And like you just called out jibs like they were very upfront about what they were doing. Oh my gosh, like, check us out, you're right in Blizzard's face.

And that, that could be, I mean, you know, I don't know how many people they had playing A couple, couple hundred thousand maybe. I'm not sure what the numbers are. We can also look that up for you, which I'll do in a second.

But those are people that, you know, maybe, maybe a decent chunk of those people would be playing World of Warcraft if it wasn't for Turtle. Wow.

Jibbs

00:51:14.970 - 00:51:15.530

Yeah.

Kash

00:51:15.530 - 00:51:46.230

And that's taking money out of the hands of a company, a massive company. I will say that it's a massive company and people don't like corporations and all those things and I completely understand that.

But Blizzard earned What they have today, Turtle Wow. Didn't. And they're piggybacking off of that. So that is. I think that's where I'm going to. 75% lie right there. That I'm.

I'm pretty much with Blizzard on this one because it was so blatant. So.

Jibbs

00:51:46.390 - 00:51:46.950

I agree.

Kash

00:51:47.280 - 00:51:47.520

Right.

Jibbs

00:51:48.560 - 00:52:12.960

At the end of the day, the last thing I would think if you are running a private server that you want to do is be so brazen with ads or, you know, was it video ads? I feel like that was Ascension, but I feel like Turtle wow did it too. And I'm just thinking to myself, I can't. I can't believe they're doing this.

You're flaunting your private server in front of.

Kash

00:52:14.790 - 00:52:15.030

Right.

Jibbs

00:52:15.030 - 00:52:38.150

You're like a gnome who summoned a massive demon and you're just like wafting, you know, like something that the demon wants. And you're like, hey, what are you doing? What are you doing? And so as. I mean, it sounds like they. They have a pretty. A pretty healthy player base.

What was it like? They peaked somewhere? I've read somewhere around 13,000 players.

Kash

00:52:38.550 - 00:52:42.570

Yeah, it's definitely not 200,000. It's. That is. Those numbers are confirmed.

Jibbs

00:52:42.570 - 00:52:44.450

Those. Okay. Those are confirmed. Okay.

Kash

00:52:44.450 - 00:53:03.530

Yeah. 13,000 players peak. And generally on a. On a regular day, at their peak hours throughout the day, it's like 10 or 10 to 11,000 players.

So definitely less. But I mean, if half those people are. Are donating or even a quarter of those people, and they're definitely making money.

Jibbs

00:53:03.690 - 00:53:13.370

So let's do some math here. 10,000 times 50, 15. That is $150,000 that Blizzard is losing every month. That's a lot of money. Yeah.

Kash

00:53:13.370 - 00:53:20.810

And granted there's no. But there's no sub for that game. It's just the donations.

Jibbs

00:53:21.050 - 00:53:22.649

Correct. So correct.

Kash

00:53:22.649 - 00:53:24.530

Or, you know, people buying cosmetics and stuff.

Jibbs

00:53:24.530 - 00:53:24.970

Correct.

Kash

00:53:24.970 - 00:53:26.010

But they're still making money.

Jibbs

00:53:26.010 - 00:54:53.970

Yeah. Oh, they're making money. Absolutely. They just can't say that they are. They can't report that because then that is definitely a legal violation.

This is. It's such a messy thing. And I mentioned earlier that that was how I got my Warcraft start. I am not proud of that thing. But I remember being.

Oh, gosh, I don't remember the year it. Early, early 2010s. I just couldn't. I couldn't swing it. I couldn't afford it. I always wanted to. Always wanted to be playing. Wow.

That's what my friends would play. But I couldn't afford it. So I joined the private server and that's how I got started. Granted, I'm glad it introduced me to wow.

I'm more glad that I was able to find myself in a place where I could meet all of you, you know, cash and the community and actually having my own computer and, and be able to play the game, the real game. That was what I always wanted.

But you know, like, I'm glad that that was a way to induce me to Warcraft, but I can't ever imagine staying on that thing. I can't ever imagine.

And I get it, I understand the mentality of it because they're doing a lot of things that, that, you know, a lot of retail players have made comments that they would like to see. You know, the whole classic plus thing, that's a whole nother conversation for another episode, you know, that we could talk about here.

But let me ask you this question and then we need to move on. Should Blizzard ever license fan run servers or is that opening? Is that kind of like opening Pandora's box?

Kash

00:54:54.210 - 00:55:14.290

I think it definitely is. I think they waited way too long to dive into this because this brings me back to a. It's, it's a basic principle leadership.

If you are not condemning an act, you are encouraging it.

Jibbs

00:55:14.370 - 00:55:15.050

That's well said.

Kash

00:55:15.050 - 00:55:18.050

You're condoning. If you're not condemning, you're condoning.

Jibbs

00:55:18.940 - 00:55:19.820

Right, Yep.

Kash

00:55:20.140 - 00:55:37.900

So for them to, I mean it took them a while, but I would imagine they probably had to put a case together. They probably had to, you know, put a lot of resources into coming down on, on some of these private run servers.

So it's not something that's gonna, you know, legal stuff. You know, legal stuff does not happen quickly.

Jibbs

00:55:37.900 - 00:55:39.380

Oh gosh, no.

Kash

00:55:39.380 - 00:56:10.540

So it, it took, it took them a while to do this and I think a lot of people were very surprised that it took them, them this long to do this.

But again, I think if they don't put their foot down, then they're basically keeping the door open for other people to come in and take money from them. At the end of the day, a company puts out a product to make money.

Yeah, it's a business, you know, it's a business and we can, you know, we can complain about hundred dollar mounts all we want, but the reality is a lot of people bought that mount.

Jibbs

00:56:11.730 - 00:56:12.850

I would if it came back.

Kash

00:56:12.850 - 00:56:39.590

I'm just saying, you know what I mean? That's, that's my point.

So you know, at the end of the day they're there to make money and if something is Leeching money from you, pun intended on the leech stat. But I think that something did need to be done about it.

And again, I don't like to see players, you know, who are in the same place that you were, jibs where $15 a month is a lot of money to a lot of people.

Jibbs

00:56:39.750 - 00:56:40.150

Yeah.

Kash

00:56:40.150 - 00:57:08.640

So I don't like to see those people lose the ability to do something they love. That hurts.

But at the same time, a company that's the entity that's putting out a product like this has to know that the company eventually is going to smack you. And they did. I'm interested to hear what the people have to say. Seriously, because, dude, we're just.

We're two dipshits here talking about stuff like this. I really would love to know what the community thinks about this.

Jibbs

00:57:08.720 - 00:57:25.360

Yeah, I would like to hear that too. Yeah, let us know. So, on YouTube comments or Facebook, I mean, that's where we're at.

It's either the Spotify, you can comment there, you can comment on YouTube, and of course you can comment on. On Facebook. But we need to move on, folks. It's time to boot up Snark. Hit it, boys.

Kash

00:57:32.060 - 00:57:33.260

Snark online.

Jibbs

00:57:39.580 - 00:57:44.860

Is that. Why are you doing that face? Like I did that. Like that was me. Like I did that. Live recording.

Kash

00:57:44.860 - 00:57:49.260

No, your farts are looser. Oh, my gosh.

Jibbs

00:57:50.940 - 00:59:05.480

You know what to say when you turn 30. Anyway, yeah, a lot of us weekend warriors and nine to fivers adventurers, folks, many of us have limited time to play World of Warcraft.

And so what does that mean for you?

Well, here at Azeroth Morning Radio, we let our good old goblins with their wonderful contraption named Snark Segment Navigator and Randomizer kiosk pick the segment for us. And this time it's called 30 minutes or less. So let's say, yeah, the kids are playing.

Yeah, they're watching their favorite cartoon I recently saw in a World of Warcraft group where the gaming area is their dining room table and it's all laptops. And that's how they. They gain World of War. Maybe that's. Maybe, maybe that's you. Maybe that's how you're gaming. And you've got 30 minutes. All right.

What can you do in that 30 minutes? So there are plenty of ways that you can progress and feel productive.

There's things you can do in this game, whether it's chasing gear Gold Ren, or just a little daily dopamine before you need to log off for the day. So we thought, man, let's do a quick.

Let's do a quick, quick hit accomplishments list for you guys and what that would look like if you got 30 minutes. What can you do? Cash?

Kash

00:59:05.560 - 00:59:17.880

Well, I'll tell you what, if I'm one of those kids with a laptop sitting at the table, I only have half hour. I'm gonna be doing dishes for another half hour. Can I get another half hour if I do the dishes, dad? Yes, you can. Sweet. We're running Karazhan.

Jibbs

00:59:20.340 - 00:59:26.260

Oh, man, the kid was smart. He'd join a mythic 30 in remix and just take the dirt nap for the whole.

Kash

00:59:26.260 - 00:59:36.940

There you go. You know, I mean, you have 30 minutes or less. Play remix. No, you're gonna get a whole lot more done. Oh, my gosh.

You're gonna go through 10 sets of armor in 30 minutes.

Jibbs

00:59:36.940 - 00:59:38.300

Jeez. Yeah.

Kash

00:59:38.300 - 01:00:26.360

You're not kidding. I think probably one of the biggest things and this, you know, this.

If you have 30 minutes, like cumulatively over, you know, weeks and weeks and weeks, and you can progress your character enough, I think if you can get to the point to where you can do world quests and daily quests, including the weeklies, I'd probably knock that stuff out if that's all the time you have, because that's going to give you a huge bang for your buck.

You're going to get gear upgrades, you're going to get rep, you're going to get flightstones, you're going to get crests, and you're going to get to get all that stuff all at the same time. So, you know, especially when you're, you know, everybody's just trying to progress your gear.

That's what everybody's trying to get that gear score up a little bit. So you're more powerful in the world. So probably, I mean, at least that's one idea.

Jibbs

01:00:27.480 - 01:00:27.960

Yeah.

Kash

01:00:28.840 - 01:00:29.880

Like, what are your thoughts?

Jibbs

01:00:29.960 - 01:01:00.820

Well, my head has been going to professions a lot lately, and if I'm down going to continue to dabble in this, this Shadow Priest venture, then for me, I think of professions. I'm like, okay, what am I gonna do?

Well, one of the great things I will say about, honestly, Dragonflight, that introduced it, and I still feel like I'm a novice at this thing. However, you could totally knock this out in 30 minutes or less. That's crafting orders. Crafting orders are awesome. I think.

And do I fully understand at all?

Kash

01:01:00.820 - 01:01:01.380

Nope.

Jibbs

01:01:01.380 - 01:01:12.020

I am as noob as it gets when it comes to crafting. However, I know that you can do those things. So you can fill one to two was like public or guild orders for quick profession xp.

Kash

01:01:12.340 - 01:01:36.910

Yes, that is a fact. I, I have delved. It's another pun. I've delved into crafting orders. And I actually have a really good time with them.

Especially because if I like say I get, you know, an actual. Because there's, there's ones that you could do where it's like NPCs.

You're filling crafting orders for NPCs and you're, you're getting rewards and stuff for doing them. But I like doing the ones for actual people.

Jibbs

01:01:37.150 - 01:01:37.710

Yeah.

Kash

01:01:37.790 - 01:01:42.030

Because then this is so dorky, but it's so amazing.

Jibbs

01:01:42.350 - 01:01:43.190

Oh, I know where you're going.

Kash

01:01:43.190 - 01:02:42.160

You can type them a little message. So. And I'm an alchemist on my main.

So I would, I would, you know, make them whatever potions or whatever they wanted for the raid and I would always type in to the comments like a disclaimer, like a pharmaceutical company would and say, make sure you're taking this only at the recommended dosage because this could cause uncontrollable flatulence. Good luck. And then send it. So I would do that all the time. Just add a little bit of fun to the game. Right.

And like, okay, Jibs, I'm going to out us here.

You and I have, we've done quite a bit of this when we'll pick something up in the world, crafting materials that I know that your jewelry crafter could use or whatever, and I'll send it to you. Or you'll send me leather working or mats for, for alchemy. And you will type, you'll type something like in a full RP fashion.

Jibbs

01:02:42.160 - 01:02:43.320

Oh yeah, full rp.

Kash

01:02:43.320 - 01:02:51.030

Like it's two characters or like it's two citizens of Azeroth sending each other materials. And how fun is that?

Jibbs

01:02:51.190 - 01:02:59.830

Oh, it's so much fun. You. You.

There's no place in that where you're not grinning or smiling because, you know, just picture the other person opening like, what the heck is.

Kash

01:03:00.310 - 01:03:33.540

Yeah, like I'm never ordering from this alchemist again. He's telling me these things are gonna make me fart, you know, But I mean, half an hour, have some fun with it. You know what I mean?

And I, I love, I love the thought of just slow playing the game. So it could be a blessing having an hour or so to play the game.

And that's all you got because you can play the game the way you want to play the game. There are so many aspects of the game that you can dive into. Dive into Those for half an hour.

Get into your character, enjoy it, do little things like that.

Jibbs

01:03:33.780 - 01:04:17.140

Oh, yeah, absolutely. And there's another thing too.

In addition to Professions that I've always aspired, there's two things in this game I've always aspired to really dive into. And I never have. Never have. On a serious note, at least. And that one is Professions two is gold making.

So, like, you know, getting into the whole, like really getting into the whole economy side of things. And believe it or not, that's one of the things that you actually do within 30 minutes.

So auction house flips work in the auction house, we had a close friend who played World of Warcraft and he legitimately, from the moment he logged in to the moment he logged out. Sonny Ravencourt, you know I'm talking to you. That guy never left the auction house. Never left.

Kash

01:04:17.140 - 01:04:20.500

And he made a ton of gold.

Jibbs

01:04:20.660 - 01:04:28.340

Yeah. His goal, his goal was to make a million gold.

He made his million gold, proceeded to give said million gold away to all his friends, and then he quit the game.

Kash

01:04:28.500 - 01:04:32.340

Yeah, to this day we're trying to get him back into the game, but now he's iracing.

Jibbs

01:04:32.500 - 01:04:34.380

He is iracing again. So good for him.

Kash

01:04:34.380 - 01:04:36.390

And he's probably crushing that.

Jibbs

01:04:36.710 - 01:04:42.070

Yeah, I think he finished like fourth in his. He had like a televised race the other day. I think he got fourth. It was awesome.

Kash

01:04:42.150 - 01:04:43.430

Yeah. Fantastic.

Jibbs

01:04:43.430 - 01:04:43.830

Yeah.

Kash

01:04:44.790 - 01:05:23.310

So diving back into. Into this a little bit. Everybody knows that collections and achievements are a big part of a lot of people's end game, in particularly Transmogs.

Oh, that is a huge thing. So when you have higher level characters, it is much easier to go back through old raids and one shot everything and collect transmogs.

You could, in half an hour, you could probably knock out a couple of raids, I would say, and significantly increase your collection of transmogs that you have. Also something that Jibs and I have done.

Jibbs

01:05:23.390 - 01:06:15.050

Agreed.

And now, I mean, they've added this in Legion Remix and this may be news to a lot of people, but within Legion Remix they added the feature that's coming to midnight, that's coming to retail, and that is when you are doing your transmog runs. The game will account for the highest difficulty. You've completed that thing. So let's say we were talking Night hold earlier.

Let's say we run Night hold on mythic and in retail and we're doing a transmog run and I or cash loots, a chest piece. Perfect. That will now give him the chest piece for every previous difficulty. So he ran on Mythic.

So it's gonna give him heroic, it's gonna give him normal, and I believe it's also gonna give you LFR as well. So they are streamlining the way that you're able to acquire these things. Definitely, definitely gonna be quicker for a lot of folks.

But yeah, transmog is, transmog is life.

Kash

01:06:15.290 - 01:06:57.610

Yeah.

I also think that if you're say you're into PvP and, and that's your, that's your stick, then the, the developers at Blizzard have done a lot of things to make drop in dropout gaming much more available to you. You don't have to queue up for an epic every time you come in. And you know you're having 45 minutes of your life for one match.

Yeah, you can drop into solo shuffles, you can drop into battlegrounds, you can drop into things that are very, very quick for 15, 20 minutes if you want. You know, do a couple matches and you're out and then, you know, come back and sit down after you finish your chores after your wife's done with you.

Jibbs

01:06:57.610 - 01:07:28.860

Oh yeah. Oh yeah, absolutely.

I'm almost always, unless I'm not in the mood, like if I'm really focusing on story and just, you know, really just unwinding, I'm almost always queued for something, whether it's PvP or Dungeon Run or something else. But PvP is so easy to get in and out of and especially with the fact that they're adding in midnight, the allows you to queue against AI.

That's going to be so great for so many people introducing them to PvP. And so it'll be, it's a, it's an easy way to. Like Cash said, it's an easy, you know, jump in, jump out kind of thing.

Kash

01:07:28.860 - 01:07:35.700

If you want to feel good, go into the AI battlegrounds and just crush everybody and tell yourself they're real people.

Jibbs

01:07:35.780 - 01:07:41.950

And send your scoreboard to your friend and don't tell him it was AI. He doesn't need to know. He doesn't need to know.

Kash

01:07:43.550 - 01:07:47.230

Then you get in against the real people and you're like, what the hell just happened in my life?

Jibbs

01:07:47.470 - 01:07:50.350

Why does my face hurt? Bruised.

Kash

01:07:51.870 - 01:08:41.719

I would say my last one is going to be this one. I would say in preparation for housing, there are a lot of things that you can still do with legacy content.

So go back to the old zones and you know, do your professions. Fish those things. Fish those things up. Fish, fish. It's fantastic. It's so satisfying and chill. I love going to the old zones.

As a matter of fact, every time Jebs and I have a show meeting, when we just want to sit down and brainstorm, we go to. Where have we been going? Basically been going Elwyn Duskwood.

Yeah, all these different spots and we just, we're in game and our characters are on the shoreline and we're just fishing while we talk through stuff for the show. Yeah, fantastic fun.

Jibbs

01:08:41.799 - 01:08:56.039

That was our first, truly is our first legit meeting.

Was we were, all we were was on the border of Westfall and Elwyn Forest and Duskwood, there's this little like mini island and that like these, the rivers will connect and that's where we were, man, just fishing away.

Kash

01:08:56.039 - 01:08:57.879

That's hogger territory right there, buddy.

Jibbs

01:08:58.120 - 01:09:23.080

Yeah, man, I don't know. Anyway, so there for a bonus real quick, folks.

You can log in, send your followers on missions you could do, queue for pet battles, you could do world quests, you know, one to two world quests, visit the Trading Post, check out all that sort of thing. Anyway, there's a ton of things that you can do in this game. And that's the beauty of World of Warcraft.

That's the beauty of why we love World of Warcraft. Because there's something for everyone in World of Warcraft.

Kash

01:09:23.240 - 01:09:24.280

It's your mental time.

Jibbs

01:09:24.490 - 01:09:25.210

That's right.

Kash

01:09:25.370 - 01:09:36.730

Don't deny yourself your mental time, even if you only have 30 minutes to play. Hop in. Live another life for a little bit. Forget about any woes or worries you have and just enjoy Azeroth.

Jibbs

01:09:36.890 - 01:09:41.130

That's right. That's right. Well, folks, we'll be right back. We can take a commercial break, close out the show.

Commercial

01:09:41.930 - 01:10:43.940

You've conquered the dell. You've slain the monsters. You've claimed your rewards.

Hey, he claimed your rewards, sure, but you left half the gold sitting right there on the floor. Now that all the beasties are gone, old Bran's got himself a bit of after hours exploring to do.

Just me, me pickaxe in this beautiful pile of unguarded treasure. You know, a dwarf could make a tidy little retirement fund out of this. And speaking of retirement, seems I'm getting replaced. Hmm.

They say Velida Sanguinar is the new companion in town. Aye, fancy knives, pretty face, moves like a shadow. But can she spot a hidden pressure plate under a pile of rubble? Ow.I don't think so. Blasted split tails.

So while the heroes get their glory, old Bran'll be sipping ale on a beach somewhere, courtesy of all this forgotten loot, brought to you by Azeroth Morning Radio, reminding you if Bran's sticking around in the delves of little bit after hours. You might want to check your gold pile. Blasted trap. I'm fine. I'm totally fine.

Jibbs

01:11:23.950 - 01:12:33.140

Pulling aggro IRL definitely a guild that's built on good vibes with good people. Low pressure, understanding that your life takes priority over your game time.

So pulling aggro irl fantastic game and I am very happy that we finally found out what Bran has been up to.

Jibbs

01:13:30.680 - 01:13:39.400

I know. I feel better now. I feel like I can relax. It makes sense, though. Yeah, I mean, it's not like it does make sense, you know, we all leave the dungeon.

Doesn't mean he was.

Kash

01:13:40.840 - 01:13:42.040

Well, he was sneaking back.

Jibbs

01:13:42.110 - 01:13:45.470

Oh, yeah, he was. He was getting a little. Getting a little extra time in that dungeon.

Kash

01:13:45.550 - 01:13:48.510

Now he's stepping in my tie. On a beach in Zejo.

Jibbs

01:13:48.510 - 01:13:49.070

Jealous?

Kash

01:13:49.550 - 01:13:51.270

Rebuilding a sailboat.

Jibbs

01:13:51.270 - 01:14:01.230

Yeah, that's my boat. Friends, thank you so much for tuning in. We love you. Have a great week. Stay awesome. Be kind to one another. I miss you all already.
